As you know from my articles and various blog posts, I regularly implement practical tools and calculators related to the respective topics. You can now find these gathered in their own category.
The tools that were previously embedded directly in the posts have been removed from the respective articles. This is particularly beneficial for the tools in older blog posts, as they won’t languish from the 2010s to the 2020s and will regain more relevance. Additionally, this allows me to continuously develop and keep them up to date.
Another major advantage that has arisen is the ability to present the downsides of Google Sites' code implementation more cleanly. Anyone who uses Google Sites themselves or knows of other sites using this website provider and embedding codes knows that the rigid website builder approach comes with certain limitations. Within the builder elements, extra scroll bars appear. There are code adjustments to partially circumvent this, but then there's often the issue of the display not being optimal on mobile devices. That's why it’s now beneficial that I have all the tools on a separate page, as I can simply enlarge the builder element windows sufficiently to avoid additional scroll bars within the element. You’ll notice this when you view the mobile version of some tools and compare it to the web version on a computer. On smartphones, the tool usually fits quite well, while on computers, you often have to scroll quite far down to the bottom of the page. Since the tools are now each dedicated to their own page, this doesn’t negatively impact usability. It’s just not perfectly resolved—and it will remain that way unless a solution is found.
I have divided the tools into two categories. My website primarily addresses fitness and nutrition topics, so there is the category "Fitness & Nutrition Tools." In my blog, I cover all the topics that interest me over time, leading to a variety of tools. Therefore, there is the second category "Miscellaneous Tools," where I essentially throw in everything that comes up.
Very important: I am not a programming professional, and I ask you to double-check the results of the tools. If you notice any errors or wish for an additional function in a tool, please contact me.
Have fun browsing!
