How to Interpret Your FFMI
The Fat-Free Mass Index (FFMI) calculates the fat-free mass relative to height, supplemented by a small correction factor.
Studies show that there is a natural upper limit for FFMI, which is 25 for men. An FFMI above this value could indicate possible doping use, which is why FFMI is also used in the realm of natural bodybuilding to monitor illegal substances.
FFMI also reflects the remaining potential for muscle building. It is recommended that men aim for an FFMI above 20 and women above 17.
