After receiving several emails with questions about my condition post-vaccination, I’d like to provide a brief update on how I’ve been feeling. Spoiler: I’m still alive!
On the day of the vaccination, I noticed some mild reactions in the late afternoon, about four hours later, including swollen lymph nodes and fatigue. That first night, I experienced chills, a slightly elevated temperature, mild nausea, and dizziness. The next morning, I felt a bit unwell, but by the afternoon, I was largely back to normal.
Compared to other vaccinations I’ve had in the past, the reactions this time were noticeably stronger. Usually, I hardly notice any vaccine reactions. But in this case, it really wasn’t a big deal.
And no, the reactions don’t necessarily indicate how well or poorly the immune system is responding to the vaccine, in case you were wondering. Even without noticeable vaccine reactions, the vaccination provides robust protection. However, I must admit it’s somewhat reassuring to feel a reaction from my body, even if it’s purely psychological.
I will receive my second dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine 12 weeks after the first vaccination, unless the option arises to choose a heterologous vaccination schedule with a combination of vector and mRNA vaccines.

Closing Words
Thank you for your inquiries about my condition after the vaccination. So once again: Yes, I’m doing great, and I continue to recommend the vaccine to everyone. The mild vaccine reactions subsided quickly, and the vaccine protection is an important step in contributing to the fight against the pandemic.
