I’m moving again! No, I’m not changing my place of residence, but my website provider. My new home is Google Sites! In this post, I’d like to briefly explain the reasons behind this decision.
Free, Ad-free, and User-friendly
As some of you may know, I generally prefer Google products. I use Google Docs and Sheets daily, my smart home runs on Google, and my phone is a Google Pixel. So, it only made sense to switch to a Google service for my website as well. The best part: unlike my previous provider, this service is completely free and also ad-free. This isn’t my first move. With most previous providers, I always had to choose between either living with ads (which, by the way, I didn’t earn a single cent from) or paying for an ad-free option. And generally, more professional websites come with a monthly fee anyway. But I think a free option is sufficient for my needs, without much technical frills.
With Google Sites, you hardly need any programming skills to create an appealing website. Thanks to its drag-and-drop system, content can be organized effortlessly, and pages can be built using different elements like text, images, and videos. And if needed, there’s still the option to embed code. With HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, you can even add useful tools like calorie calculators.
What will change slightly is the design of my website. But I’ll keep it in the same darker, more eye-friendly style you’re used to. My website will remain ad-free, as always, and I have no intention of running paid ads. The content will remain free for all visitors.
And although Google Sites has some limitations, like restricted SEO optimization options, it meets all my needs and offers enough customization to design the website the way I want.

Closing Words
At the moment, I’m gradually transferring my blog posts and articles from the old platform to the new Google Sites platform. Although I’ve temporarily published the site with the standard Sites domain, I’m considering purchasing a personalized domain soon.
