Hey everyone, today I'm sharing a bit more from my personal life again. My moped days are officially over. I've deregistered mine and the next step is getting my car driver's license. I'm definitely looking forward to that, but to be honest, I still feel a little sad about closing this chapter.
I haven't really written much about mopeds or tuning here on the blog, so this post might seem a bit random to some of you. Most of the content on this site is about other topics and personal stuff only pops up now and then. Over on my Superchat blog (where I've been posting for years), it's the opposite. Almost every second post is about something personal.
What I always liked about mopeds was how simple they are to work on. Compared to cars, they're way more straightforward and even tuning them doesn't cost a fortune. If something broke while we were out racing through the woods, it was usually a quick fix and we were back on the road.
This will probably change with cars, as my interest in tuning in this area is somewhat lower.
The Future: Two-Wheels, Yes or No?
Although I no longer have a street-legal moped, I still have a dirt bike and a mini bike in my garage. I've considered getting a motocross bike, but I'd actually prefer something street-legal so I don't have to ride only on specific tracks. Still, I don't think I will pursue a motorcycle license at this point. I enjoyed riding mopeds because it allowed me to be, let's say, young and reckless, and to let loose in the woods. That wouldn't be as easy now and I think it would be a bit too dangerous for me.
Overall, it was a great time, and I'll surely look back on it fondly.
